PROVERBS 19:21

You can make many plans, but the LORD ’s purpose will prevail.

Fast forward two years and I am a 2018 graduate of LeTourneau University with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. All while not only working as a full time athletic trainer, but also becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. at the local HBCU of Texas College as a Solo initiate. I had no one but God to help achieve both standards of success.

The fun had just began. I began to seek and apply for athletic training positions in which I could work with a men’s basketball team. I received many call backs, interview opportunities, and even job offers. The jobs I wanted I didn’t receive. The jobs I was skeptical about is what I got offered. However, God had a plan for me, and I trusted it.

Months had gone by, the school year had started and I was at home wondering if I was going to be a lyft driver living at home for the next year. One morning I got a phone call about a position to work with a Division I men’s basketball team. My prayers were finally answered and two weeks later I began my new journey. Shortly after beginning I enrolled in California University of Pennsylvania online degree program to work towards a master’s degree in sports rehabilitation and sports psychology.

My favorite holiday came around (Thanksgiving) and I was in Little Rock, Arkansas for a road trip with the basketball team. I thought to myself I can’t believe I am spending my Thanksgiving in Little Rock, Arkansas. I probably will never come back to the “Natural State”. It’s funny how we have a plan and God laughs at it… Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
