NUMBERS 6:24-6:26
"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
There are many times in life in which God will bring along a storm in your life to test the genuineness of our faith. Those storms can come in the form of sickness, finances, broken relationships. These storms of life can threaten our peace, comfort, and joy. Have you ever thought that maybe God is preparing you for greater? If you never go through the beating, the pressing, you will never know how anointed you would be. You would not be able to walk into the destiny, the plan that He has for you. Since Jesus overcame the world, we can rest on the truth to trust Him when we face trials and tribulations.
My last year at the University of Arkansas Little Rock a storm came into my life with my career. Between lies, disagreements, and doubts, it was time for me to pursue other opportunities in my career. I became uncomfortable going into work every day. I soon learned that when God wants us to grow, He makes us uncomfortable in our current situation. The storm that God sent my way made me uncomfortable. I prayed to him to provide me the poise to remain professional and to bless me with a new opportunity.
I began to passively look for new opportunities. With the ultimate goal of mine to work in the NBA as an athletic trainer. For without work, faith is dead. I couldn’t sit around and just wait and think that God was going to bless me. Fast forward a couple of months and I received a call from a hall of fame athletic trainer about coming to work Men’s basketball along side him. The institution was Butler University. A prestigious basketball program, with the opportunity to work alongside a hall of famer, while being right in my hometown. It was a no brainer. I told him that I was there unless the University of Texas or an NBA team calls me with an opportunity.
I moved back home with the intention to live in Indianapolis for the longest period I ever had since graduating undergrad.
